God's Plan Of Salvation
There are basically four things you need to know from the Bible to have assurance that when you die, you will go to Heaven.
I. EVERYONE IS A SINNER
ROMANS 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” The reason that we “come short” of God’s glory (God’s righteousness or perfect nature) is because “All have sinned.” “All” includes me and it also includes you. You must first agree with the Bible and admit that you are a sinner.
II. EVERYONE OWES A SIN-DEBT
ROMANS 6:23a “For the wages (penalty or debt) of sin is death.” This is speaking of eternal death which is also called “The second death.” REVELATION 20:14 “And death and Hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” Secondly, you must realize that if you die in your sin, then you must pay the penalty for sin by spending eternity in Hell.
III. EVERYONE’S SIN-DEBT HAS BEEN PAID
ROMANS 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Although sin brings eternal death, God wants to give us eternal life.
Notice: “Eternal Life” is:
1. Not through going to church.
2. Not through being baptized.
3. Not through being a good person, but it is
ROMANS 5:8 “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” The third thing you must believe is that Jesus has paid the wages of sin by dying for you, and eternal life is only through Him.
IV. EVERYONE CAN BE SAVED
Although Jesus died to pay everyone’s sin debt, not everyone is on their way to Heaven. You must personally receive God’s Gift of eternal life. You must believe what Jesus has done for you. ROMANS 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
If you would like to receive Christ Jesus as your Saviour simply bow your head right now and humbly:
1. Confess to God that you are a sinner.
2. Ask God to forgive your sin.
3. By faith, trust Christ Jesus as your Saviour.
